What is the opportunity?

You will join an agile squad that builds in-house applications and integrates vendor products for our RBC Global Asset Management Institutional business. You will be in charge to collaborate with business partners to create scalable technology solutions powering growth, improving client experience, and making our client facing and support teams more efficient. We value positive attitude, willingness to learn, open communication, teamwork and commitment to clean, secure and well-tested code.

What will you do?

  • Hands-on application design, coding, and deployment

  • Liaison with business partners to delivery solution based on clients’ needs

  • Provide technical influence by sharing deep knowledge and experience

  • Maintain code quality and best practices across the stack

  • Support and maintain the team application suites on various technical infrastructures and architectures.

  • Ensure system availability and lead the planning of disaster recovery

  • Help increase adoption of emerging technology within area of expertise

  • Design microservices in cloud platform that offer the data and services to both internal and external partner

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • 8+ years of experience combined in programming, small to large-scale applications, frontend and backend engineering, test-driven development, microservices and architecture design principles

  • Expert in multiple programming languages such as: C#, JavaScript (Node.js / Vue.js / React / Angular), Python, HTML5/CSS, SQL, GraphQL, etc.

  • Deep knowledge in DevOps and CI/CD pipeline best practices

  • Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills. Ability to determine the information and communication needs of the stakeholders and project

  • Mentor on standards and coding practices and debug very complex or urgent problems. Maximize reuse and build sustainable applications

Nice to Have

  • Experience with microservices in cloud such as Azure, Openshift, PCF

  • Experience with various DevOps Pipeline tools such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, Vault, GitHub, JIRA, Confluence, Nexus IQ, SonarQube, UCD, Artifactory, etc.
